It's not the last game of the season.

Re: Last Match at The Boelyn
at least this way the old place gets a decent send off.

I don't really see the problem with it.

Re: Last Match at The Boelyn
Manciron, all last games of the season, have to KO at the same time, so no Monday football

I want to run on the pitch!

Re: Last Match at The Bowlin'
Not sure it even matters what day it's on.

Not as if we're not used to being fucked around by the TV schedule for about a quarter of the games a season.

Re: Last Match at The Boelyn
No guarantee of it being on Sky is there though?

If the race for the title is a close run thing and the relegation battle is tight, why would Sky choose what could be a meaningless mid-table affair?

They should have requested a home game on the last day of the season. If we end up playing it on the Monday night a lot of people will be mightily fucked off.

Re: Last Match at The Bowlin'
Does it really matter if its the last game of season or not?

Sven Roeder 5:48 Thu Oct 8
Re: Last Match at The Bowlin'
I think clubs can make any request they like about fixtures and if it is true that Southend are happy to fit around our fixtures it would probably be granted.

Far Cough 5:43 Thu Oct 8
Re: Last Match at The Boelyn
So it's an economic reason and not a logistic or security / safety reason?

Buster 5:41 Thu Oct 8
Re: Last Match at The Boelyn
It's because if we're away, they may get a bigger gate at home if people decide to pop along who would otherwise be at Upton Park.

Far Cough 5:37 Thu Oct 8
Re: Last Match at The Boelyn
The Ys and the Arse

Can't see how us and Southend at home the same day causes any kind of problem?

Sven Roeder 5:34 Thu Oct 8
Re: Last Match at The Boelyn
A lot of fixtures are matched so that the clubs aren't at home on the same day.
There are the obvious ones like Man U/City, Liverpool / Everton etc but some are less so.
Entirely possible that Southend have requested something like that in regards to us.

Northern Sold 5:29 Thu Oct 8
Re: Last Match at The Boelyn
Southend for example?

uh?

whufcroe 5:25 Thu Oct 8
Re: Last Match at The Boelyn
"That is an undisputed FACT. This is nothing to do with Sky,"

Actually that's wrong

It was an agreement between Sky, the PL and the club as Sky want to make a bit of a fuss about it and show it on TV which is the right thing to do and the PL didn't want it distracting any last day games with something riding on them.

Re: Last Match at The Boelyn
So
Us playing Stoke on the last game of the season is all the owners fault?
